Hey cuties! Here's your meeting recap for 1/31. This contains a lot of important information, so make sure to read all the way through.

First of all, we need MONEY! Unfortunately, sending all of you to regionals is very expensive, and we need still need money for shirts. Please, if you can, donate to Science Olympiad by giving cash to one of the officiers or writing a check to SRHS Science Olympiad Club (give to Finance Office).

Lucky for you boba addicts, we have a fundraiser at The Alley (9225 Mira Mesa Blvd) on 2/7 and 2/8. Go get your boba, and mention that you're there for Science Olympiad!

Time blocks for regionals have been confirmed! Click this link to make sure your events are as they should be. For self-scheduled events, we worked hard to ensure all of you guys got your top choices. If something is off, go to talk to Mrs. Fowler DIRECTLY. Also, reminder for build events - regardless of what time your event is, you must go to impound at 7:30 in the morning.

Regionals are coming up! Regionals are in a month and a half. Start studying and preparing materials if you have not already. We have multiple resources available, including beginner's guides, our resources drive, and a test bank. Other sites to use are SciOly.org Wiki and SOINC. The gym is also available for you guys to test your builds on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 2/10, from 7:00-8:15 AM. All you need to do is contact Mrs. Fowler 24 hours in advance.

Please prepare properly. Your individual scores impact our school's overall ranking and determine if we make to state or not. If you are a no-show, you will not be prioritized and will be moved to the waiting list for next year. Make sure to read and stay updated through our Discord announcements, and at the very least, bring something if you are doing a build event.

Forms, Forms, Forms!

Multiple people have not completed the liability form yet. Every person, including family members and volunteers, must complete this form. Without it, you will NOT compete. This is non-negotiable and required by the competition. You can check if you have done it on the spreadsheet linked above.

Complete the T-Shirt Size form. These are adult sizes and will run slightly large.

The field trip form was passed out today. If you were not here, please go Mrs. Fowler's classroom ASAP to pick one up. Attempt to turn them in as soon as possible.

Thats it! Bye pookies!

About Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is a national, team-based competition in which students compete in a variety of STEM-related events. The range of topics covered and skills required is vast – from building hovercrafts to applying forensics tools – but all are united by a common theme of scientific inquiry, and top competitors are recognized with medals.

At Scripps Ranch, the Science Olympiad club works to foster a collaborative environment for students to find success on competition day. For more information about the Science Olympiad program, please see soinc.org.
